Butea superba is in the creeper genus. It is a hardy vine, often draped over large trees. It is found mainly in the plains of the foothills and at the foot of the deciduous dipterocarp forest, limestone mountains, in areas with not very large trees. Often found in groups within the forest. The large Butea superba leaves resemble the leaves of the Butea monosperma tree but bigger leaves. A large Butea superba flower, similar to the  African Tulip flower. but a garland like a Butea monosperma. Butea superba Root have large branching roots separated from the rhizome, slithering around several meters.
